I want to thank you and PDS for your support and direction in helping me to finally have control of my financial aspect of my life. Before I came to your organization for help I was drowning in credit card debt because I was using it to get myself back on my feet but in actuality I was setting myself up for financial ruin. I went through divorce and as such it drained my funds and since I was starting out again on my own, I used my credit cards with the intent of using them for “emergencies only”. Nice thought. Pretty soon I was using them to pay bills and aquire things I needed not realizing the magnitude of the consequences of my actions would be. Soon the minimum payments were getting larger and larger and I was beginning my spiral downward. I made my payments at the sacrifice of things for me. I had a son who I was responsible for helping to raise and I made sure he had things he needed and food to eat and I went without. Eventually, I took a second job and worked two full time jobs in order to try to pay my debts off and was saving money but at the expense of my health and my relationship with my son. I cried myself to sleep many a night not knowing how I was going to get out of this pit. I thought about bankruptcy but thought better of it because of the long term damage to my credit. I finally turned to Private Debt Solutions and was told of my options and worked out a plan to save what I needed to pay off my credit card debts. The first thing they did was notify the creditors to cease and desist in calling me. PDS gave me hope that I would conquer this. I was ashamed and embarrassed because I put myself in this situation, but after talking to the consultants at PDS, I realized I was not the only one that felt this way and that with a solid plan, I could get myself back to financial stability and feel good about myself. Settling the debts that I owed versus getting on a payment plan was the way to go for me. I saved what I needed for settling my debt which was negotiated through PDS and then paid the debts off within 2 years instead of making payments for who knows how long. You do not know the relief I have knowing that I am free of the weight of the debts that I owed. I am a much wiser person for having gone through this experience and have taken steps to make sure that it will not happen again. I learned that if you don’t have the money for it, save up or don’t buy it. I can be a positive example for my son and tell him from experience the pain and stress of what I went through so that he won’t fall into that trap and be a prisoner to debt. I want to thank all that helped me along the way to get to this day. I am finally at peace. Thank you so much for your help and support.
